Biography

Laura den Dulk is full professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Department of Public Administration and Sociology, the Netherlands. Her main area of expertise is cross-national research regarding work-life policies in organisations in different welfare state regimes.

In 2001 she completed her PhD in Social Sciences on the presence of work-family arrangements in organizations in different European countries. She is co-editor of a number of books: “Work-family arrangements in Europe” (Thela Thesis, 1999), “Flexible Working, Organizational Change and the Integration of Work and Personal life” (Edward Elgar, 2005), and “Quality of life and work: theory, policy and practice” (Palgrave, 2011). In 2010 she became editor of the international journal Community, Work and Family. Current research interests include the role of managers, work-life balance support in the public sector and the social quality in European workplaces. American actress (born 1967)

Laura Elizabeth Dern (born February 10, 1967) is an American actress. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, a BAFTA Award, and five Golden Globe Awards.

Born to actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd, Dern embarked on an acting career in the 1980s, and rose to prominence for her performances in Mask (1985), and in David Lynch's films Blue Velvet (1986) and Wild at Heart (1990). She received her first Academy Award nomination for her role of the titular orphan in the drama film Rambling Rose (1991), and her first Golden Globe win for her performance in the television film Afterburn (1992). She achieved international recognition for her role as Ellie Sattler in Steven Spielberg's adventure film Jurassic Park (1993), a role she later reprised in the sequels, Jurassic Park III (2001) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022).

Laura van den Berg was born and raised in Florida. She is the author of five works of fiction, including The Third Hotel (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2018), a finalist for the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award, and I Hold a Wolf by the Ears (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2020), one of Time Magazine’s 10 Best Fiction Books of 2020. She has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Strauss Living Award from the American Academy of Arts & Letters, a literature fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Bard Fiction Prize, an O. Henry Award, and has twice been shortlisted for the Frank O’Connor International
