At this Aleman took issue with Trafficante, telling him that he thought Kennedy was doing a good job, was well liked, and would probably be reelected.
To which Trafficante responded emphatically: "No, Jose, you don't understand me. Kennedy's not going to make it to the election. He is going to be hit."
Aleman later testified that Trafficante made it clear to him that he was not guessing about the killing; rather he was given the impression that he knew Kennedy was going to be killed ... Aleman was given the distinct impression that Hoffa was to be principally involved in the elimination of Kennedy.
Aleman doubled as an FBI informant. After the meeting with Trafficante he went to the FBI field office in Miami and reported Trafficante's remarks on the Kennedys and Hoffa to the agents on duty, George Davis and Paul Scranton, including Trafficante's belief that John F. John Hagy Davis (June 14, 1929 – January 29, 2012) was an American author who wrote several books on the Bouvier and Kennedy families and on the Mafia, both the Sicilian Mafia and its Italian-American offshoot.[2]
Biography
Davis was the son of stockbroker John Ethelbert Davis and Maude Reppelin Bouvier, younger sister of John Vernou Bouvier III and, therefore, first cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Lee Radziwill. His mother and John V. Bouvier III were both children of prominent New York lawyer John Vernou Bouvier Jr.[3]
Davis was a 1951 graduate of Princeton University[4] as well as Columbia University.[5] While serving in the United States Navy during the 1950s he was an officer with the Sixth Fleet stationed in Naples, Italy.[5] Davis said that he was required to "deal with the Mafia hoods who controlled the ports" as part of his duties as shore patrol and legal officer.[5] He stated that during his time there he became interested in the history of Italy

John Harwood Davis (born April 22, 1948) is an American television producer and presenter who works for Maryland Public Television in Owings Mills, Maryland. He is best known for being the host of the weekly PBS series MotorWeek, which he created for the network in 1981, where he has served as the senior executive producer and host since its inception. In addition to his work on MotorWeek, Davis was also senior executive producer of the long running Wall Street Week during the era where Louis Rukeyser hosted. He has been with Maryland Public Television since 1973.[1] In 2008 he received the Board of Governors Emmy Award for his role as creator, host and executive producer of MotorWeek, and for executive producing Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser.[2] Davis is a graduate of North Carolina State University, with a BS in mechanical and aerospace engineering, and earned a master's degree from The University of North Carolina in business administration.[1]
