Patricia Hitchcock O’Connell, actor and daughter of Alfred Hitchcock, dies at 93
Patricia Hitchcock O’Connell, the only child of famed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and an actor herself who made a memorable appearance in her father’s “Strangers on a Train” and championed his work in the decades following his death, has died at age 93.
She died Monday of natural causes in her sleep at home in Thousand Oaks, her daughter Tere Carrubba said Wednesday.
“She was always really good at protecting the legacy of my grandparents and making sure they were always remembered,” said Carrubba, one of her three daughters. “It’s sort of an end of an era now that they’re all gone.”
Known to many as Pat Hitchcock, she was born in London to Alfred Hitchcock and Alma Reville Hitchcock in 1928 and spent much of her life in and around the family business.

Patricia Alma Hitchcock O'Connell (7 July 1928 – 9 August 2021) was an English-American actress and producer. She was the only child of English director Alfred Hitchcock and film editor Alma Reville, and had small roles in several of her father's films, with her most substantial appearance being in Strangers on a Train (1951).[1]

Hitchcock was born on 7 July 1928 in London,[2] the only child of film director Alfred Hitchcock and film editor Alma Reville. The family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1939.[3]

Biography
Patricia Alma Hitchcock O'Connell is an English actress and producer.
She was born at 153 Cromwell Road in London on 7th July 1928, the only child of Alfred Hitchcock and Alma Reville.
As a teenager, her first major acting role was in the John Van Druten play Solitaire, which opened on Broadway in New York in January 1942.
After graduating from Marymount High School in Los Angeles in 1947, she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and also appeared on the London stage.
She had supporting roles in three of her father's films — Stage Fright (1950), Strangers on a Train (1951) and Psycho (1960) — as well as appearing in several episode of the television series Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
Patricia married Joseph E. O'Connell, Jr. in January 1952 and they had three daughters: Mary Stone, Tere Carrubba, and Katie Fiala.
Following her father's death, she donated his papers to the Margaret Herrick Library where they form the "Alfred Hitchcock Papers" collection.
