It has been immensely challenging to even attempt a translation and I have been putting away the idea for a good few months now. Last evening, though, things started moving and today, I have here with me an English translation. It is not literal, and it is in a way in which the words make meaning to me.
The stanza "Tame raank na chho ratan..." was particularly hard. I asked my father for help but I could not relate to his interpretation and so, here it is in the form that makes sense to me.

Abdulgani Abdulkarim Dahiwala (August 17, 1908 – March 5, 1987), popularly known as Gani Dahiwala was an Indian Gujarati poet.
Life
Abdulgani Dahiwala was born on 17 August 1908 at Surat. He came to Ahmedabad in 1928 but later returned to Surat in 1930 when he started a tailor shop. He established the music group Swarsangam in Surat. Later he was a founding member of Mahagujarat Gazal Mandal in 1942. He wrote satirical poetry in the Gujarat Mitra daily published from Surat. He traveled to Pakistan in 1981 under Cultural Exchange Scheme set by Government of India. He died on 5 March 1987.[1 Abdulgani Abdulkarim Dahiwala (અબ્દુલગની અબ્દુલકરીમ દહીંવાલા), popularmente conocido como Gani Dahiwala (ગની દહીંવાલા,Surat, 17 de agosto de 1908-5 de marzo de 1987) fue un escritorindio en guyarati. Entre otros, cultivó el género gazal y canciones geet.[1] Vivió un tiempo en Ahmedabad desde 1928 y regresó a Surat en 1930 donde trabajó en una sastrería. Allí también formó el grupo musical Swarsangam y más tarde otro llamado Mahagujarat Gazal Mandal en 1942. Entre sus obras, cabe destacar Gatan Jharana (1953) y Ganimat (1971). Bhagwatikumar Sharma compiló todos sus poemas en el libro Hoy Na Hoy Vyakti Ne Enu Naam Bolaya Kare. •
