The Return of Lorenzo – The ‘Flying Frenchman’

We are delighted to confirm the return of Lorenzo, the renowned ‘Flying Frenchman’, as the star of the International Arena display for 2024. Lorenzo, who is known for his exceptional ability to merge athleticism with precision horsemanship is set to dazzle audiences and enhance an already spectacular event which features FEI World Cup™ Jumping, Dressage, and Driving, the much-loved Shetland Pony Grand National, and The Kennel Club Dog Agility.

Lorenzo made his debut at London International Horse Show back in 1995 when the Show was held in the Olympia halls, last mesmerising audiences there in 2011. Known for performances fit for royalty, his return in 2024 promises to be even more spectacular than it was 13-years-ago.

Expressing his excitement, Lorenzo commented: “London International Horse Show has always been a highlight of my career. The atmosphere is electric, and the British crowds are incredible – they truly appreciate the passion behind my work. This will be my first time at the ExCel London, and I am thrill

In the October 2011 issue of DRESSAGE TODAY, book reviewer Mary Daniels has this to say about the bookLORENZO: THE FLYING FRENCHMAN

“I know a lot more Lorenzo lore after gobbling up sentence after sentence in this book, staring at the mesmerizing photos again and again, trying to figure it out. I’d even—given the opportunity—pass up Brad Pitt to meet Lorenzo. This is because he is an original, unlike anyone else on this planet, and I think what he does with horses shows us there is more we have yet to learn about horse training than there is in our present philosophy.”

We admit, Lorenzo is surrounded by a kind of mystique that no longer exists in the realm of Brad Pitt, his family (and now his horses!) You can’t help but wonder how he became who he is…and how horses ever figured into it. It may not have all the answers, butLORENZO: THE FLYING FRENCHMANdoes offer a history of Lorenzo’s early development as a horseman, and allows readers an opportunity to track him from daring young man to the superstar stunt rider and liberty trainer we know today.
