Paolo Sebastian is an Australian fashion house, founded by designer Paul Vasileff.[1] The atelier is located in South Australia, and the label is known for creating designs featuring intricate details and honouring the traditional methods of craftsmanship.[2]
History
Paul Vasileff launched Paolo Sebastian in 2007 at the age of seventeen, after studying at Adelaide technical college and at Milan's Istituto Europeo di Design.[3] In the years since, he and his team have transformed the local label into an international couture house.[4][5] Initially beginning with custom orders from acquaintances, Paolo Sebastian now works with clients, stylists and stockists across the globe.[6]

An Adelaide designer quietly made history yesterday, becoming the first Australian-based designer to ever show at the Paris Haute Couture Week. And here’s the kicker: you’ve probably never heard of him.
Paul Vasileff is the brains behind Adelaide-based label Paolo Sebastien, one of the very few brands in Oz built exclusively around the old-world fantasy and artisanal craftmanship of legitimate haute couture. Every garment = painstakingly hand-made. Each of his intricately beaded, ethereal gowns takes between 800 and 1550 hours of hand embroidery and his latest Autumn/Winter 16-17 collection, shown yesterday at the La Maison Champs Elysées, draws inspiration from the delicate wings of a dragonfly.

Introduction
With a passion for fashion, Paul Vasileff stitched his first dress at the tender age of 11, created countless formal dresses for friends in his teens and was just 16 when he showcased his first fashion collection.
The young boy who learnt to sew with his grandmother graduated from Milan’s prestigious Europeo Istituto di Design and is now the brains behind couture label Paolo Sebastian. At just 26, this down-to-earth designer operates a growing business in Adelaide with 15 staff.
Paul’s luxurious hand-made creations are favourites on the world’s runways, are stocked in boutiques in New York and around the globe, and are worn by celebrities walking the red carpet at the Oscars and Logies.
