Vincent M. Ignizio

Vincent M. Ignizio (born 2 October 1974) was a member of the New York State Assembly (R) from the 62nd district from 1 January 2005 to 19 February 2007 (succeeding Robert Straniere and preceding Louis Tobacco) and a member of the New York City Council from the 51st district from 20 February 2007 to 10 July 2015 (succeeding Andrew Lanza and preceding Joe Borelli).

Biography[]

Vincent M. Ignizio was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1974 to a family of Italian descent, and he served as chief of staff to Staten Island council member Stephen Fiala and to Councilmember Andrew Lanza before being elected to the State Assembly in 2005 as a Republican Party member. In 2007, he was elected to the New York City Council.

His City Council District consists of neighborhoods found on the South Shoreof Staten Island, including Annadale, Arden Heights, Bay Terrace, Charleston, Eltingville, Great Kills, Huguenot, New Dorp, New Springville, Oakwood, Pleasant Plains, Prince's Bay, Richmond Valley, Richmondtown, Rossville, Tottenville, and Woodrow.

In 2015, he was replaced by former Assemblyman and outspoken conservative Joe Borelli, after he resigned to take a position as the CEO of Catholic Charities of Staten Island. Provided by Wikipedia
